About the Artwork

Part of Between Dimension, Manel’s most distilled and quiet collection, this piece allows the figure to emerge from an intermediate space where form and suggestion coexist. Delicate layers, precise gestures and generous visual silence shape a composition in which what is left unpainted holds as much meaning as what appears.

Negative space sets the rhythm and balance of the work, while each intervention is placed with intention, bringing clarity, depth and a calm that unfolds gradually. Rather than imposing a single reading, the artwork offers a place for contemplation, an interval where one can pause, breathe and connect with the dimension between the visible and the inner world.

Materials & Techniques

Created four-handed, the works in Between Dimension result from Manel’s shared practice, where Alex and Alejandro alternate interventions or work simultaneously depending on the needs of the piece. Their method relies on mutual listening and precision: each artist advances over the layers left by the other, adjusting or adding subtle gestures until both recognise a point of balance.

Thin layers, soft textures and a reduced tonal palette define the visual language. Controlled strokes and intentional open space allow the surface to breathe and preserve the combined energy of the duo, giving rise to a single aesthetic voice that lives between form and suggestion.
